Modern and minimalist home office

This design focuses on creating a calm, modern and functional office environment in a small space. It is a great example of clean lines, the use of neutral colors and adequate storage solutions.

Use of color:

• • • Main color: Light gray is used for the upper wall cabinets and side wardrobes, which brings a calm and elegant feel.
    • Wall color: White or off-white color is used for the walls, which helps the room look brighter and larger.
    • Touch of warmth: The use of natural wood color for the desk and floor adds a warm and natural feel to the room.

Furniture and storage:

• • • Overhead cabinets: There are four handle-less cabinets mounted on the wall above the desk. They are perfect for storing files, books or other essentials, which helps keep the workspace tidy.
    • Wardrobe/tall cabinet: There is a tall cabinet from floor to ceiling on the right side of the desk. It provides enough space to store clothes or large items.
    • Floating Desk: There is a wooden desk attached to the wall. The empty space under it makes the room feel relatively large and open.
    • Open Shelf: There is a long open shelf between the upper cabinet and the desk. Books and small decorations are kept here. There is a lighting arrangement under this shelf.

Work Desk:

• • • Height: Approximately 30 inches (2.5 feet) from the floor to the top of the desk. This is a comfortable height according to ergonomic standards.
    • Depth: The desk can be 24 inches (2 feet) deep, which is enough to store a laptop, books, and other items.
    • Width: As per the design in the picture, the desk extends from the wall to the adjacent wardrobe. Depending on the size of the room, it is 48 inches.

Overhead Cabinets:

    • Depth: Wall cabinets are usually between 12 and 14 inches (1 to 1.2 feet) deep.
    • Width: The width of the desk is the same. The picture shows four cabinets of equal size, so the size of each shelf can be determined by dividing the total width into four parts.

Open Shelf between Desk and Overhead Cabinet:

• • • Height: Approximately 22 inches of space is provided from the top of the desk to the bottom of the cabinet. This is convenient for storing a monitor or laptop.

Tall Wardrobe/Closet:

• • Height: This extends straight from the floor to the ceiling. It can usually be 9 feet, depending on the height of the room.
  • Depth: The same as the depth of the desk, i.e. 24 inches (2 feet), which is the ideal size.
  • Width: Can be 48 inches wide.
