Light and Temperature:
They thrive in bright, indirect light but can tolerate light shade. Temperatures between 18-24°C (65-75°F) are ideal, and they are sensitive to cold.
Watering and Humidity:
Water when the topsoil starts to dry out, and ensure good drainage to prevent root rot. They prefer high humidity, ideally 60-80%, and benefit from misting or placement on a pebble tray with water.
Toxicity:
Dieffenbachia sap is toxic and can cause numbness and irritation if ingested, hence the common name “dumb cane.” It’s important to keep them away from pets and children.
Benefits:
Besides being aesthetically pleasing, Dieffenbachia plants are also known for their ability to improve indoor air quality by filtering out pollutants.
